DJ Dave Live... A climax to the soul

Well for starters, I’m ‘not’ an SL DJ. I’m not knocking them –just that they started yesterday, and I’ve been DJ Dave since age 11. My entire teen years were immersed in the world of DJ Dave, and at age 17, I got my first club gig.

I’ve managed numerous RL nightclubs, and owned several, including one in Barbados I stumbled into on a holiday. Despite my career as an active operator, or owner… I’ve ALWAYS worked the DJ booth at least 3 nights a week.

I’ve had my investors walk in and say… Dave? Is that you on the air? You are working the DJ booth? LOL. In RL, hot entertainment in a nightclub venue can be the difference between a $2,200 and $6,000 night. DJ’s that can turn ‘real revenue’ are VERY difficult to find. As a result, I take the air, as I enjoy it, and… It’s in my best financial interest to do so in most cases.

My RL occupation at present

I currently operate the world’s largest nightclub operations resource. Launched in 1994, http://nightclubbiz.com has maintained itself as the official resource on social entertainment ventures global wide. The site encompasses 22,000 pages of the A to Z anatomy of everything from understanding demographics, concept development, business planning, approaching the investment community, to launching the venue, and keeping it profitable. The site also provides a broad range of consulting services to both new startups and current operations. 80% of the nightclubbiz.com clientele is US based, with the remainder of it international.

IT and networking background

I also posses an extensive background in server-side programming, Unix administration, and network management. Also do… Website development in both html and php driven sites, such as this one… Can script in perl, python, as well as server-side shell scripting. Currently operate 4 Linux servers.

I also build private broadcast servers /radio stations for sims, which also encompass a fully dedicated streaming system. Installed one into both Frank’s and Midnight Reflections. These are quite powerful, is that they can handle all your DJ streaming requirements, but are also programmed with your own custom brand of music as well.

I've also acquired a strong background in telecommunications systems and programming, most of which centered on the Asterisk /Free PBX open source platform. Yes… I also posses a keen understanding of the VOIP model, as well as its numerous implementations. I actually operate my own VOIP /IP-PBX server.

I also provide full teleconference solutions for professionally managed sims. This provides operators, management, and staff the ability to call into their private conference room 24 X 7, via cell phone or landline with their own dedicated phone number. I’ve used this means of telecommunications when conducting staff meetings here in SL, as it’s instant and easy way for everyone to get in on the call.

I also provide consulting /custom build high-resolution digital video security systems. These are all based on the newer H.264 high performance compression engine. My systems offer 16 to 48-channles of video (viewed from a remote location) at full TV quality, 30 FPS, over a standard 3,500 Kbps DSL /cable connection. Many of my higher performance systems ship with ½" CCD's for extreme performance in under near, to complete darkness conditions.

Other

At present, any spare time I can find is allocated to an extensive study in the fields of sociology and behavioral science. With the focus largely on Neural-Decision sciences and Social-Communication sciences, this continues to provide further insight into the complex needs and mindsets of a 21st century social entertainment consumer.

No big secret here… I see SL as a platform with amazing and highly lucrative opportunities. But make no mistake… SL and the driving force behind it is immensely composite. While still in its infancy, I envision a number of groundbreaking concepts to emerge from SL, and I plan to lead at least one of them.
